We were spending the day with Kristen and the girls! Brooke played so hard that by lunch time she was so tired that she fell asleep at the counter and didn't eat much lunch! She ended up sleeping for over two hours! I wish I could nap like that!

Brooke's a big sister or is that a little mommy?
At first Brooke didn't like Colton and tended to act like he was not there. As time has passed she is now a concerned and caring big sister. She insists on giving him his binkie and making sure he is in his crib when she thinks he is suppose to be there. If she can not see him she calls out "Brother, where are you?" Its the cutest thing! I know that as he grows and is able to respond to her that she will enjoy spending time with him and teaching him everything he needs to know about how to be a Barney!

Colton Jade Barney is born!
On September first I had a routine visit to my Ob doc. At this point I was 4 days over due and under the impression that I was not able to be induced. To my surprise Susan my doc pulled some strings and scheduled me for induction the next morning. So at four in the morning on September second Colin and I headed for Mountain View Hospital. They started me on picton at around 7am. I was on it for about an hour and they took me off to see if labor would progress on its own. As it turns out I was not progressing and they had to up the dose. By about 3pm the contractions were getting bad but I was not dialating the way I should have been. They gave me an epidural and some more time to see what happened. By 9pm I was being wheeled into the OR for a c-section. At 10:31pm my little man was born. As it turns out my pelvic structure is too small to have children the natural way. This was something we did not know with Brooke because she was in so much distress that they didn't look elsewhere. So if any more children come along they will be born c-section.
Colton weighed 8lbs 1oz and was 20in long. He had a horrible cone head for a few days because he kept trying to come down but got stuck. He is a very handsome little man and very laid back.
We are truly blessed to have a happy healthy child!
Welcome to the family little guy your in for a real treat!

Finally updating my blog! Its been a year now since my last post and alot has happened since then. First of all we moved down to Pocatello so that Colin will beable to continue school without having to travel. It has been a good choice to move down here Colin was offered a position at the National Guard office which he enjoys and its a stable income unlike that of a serving job. He is home at nights and gets to spend time with family and friends.
We found a nice split level house to rent its perfect for our little family and its close to parks, schools and shopping!
Colin is in his second year of school and I believe that he will be very successful. He enjoys the classes that I would just do terrible in such as chemistry and anatomy and physiology. Those things just come natural to him. He is indeed blessed.
I am lucky enough to be a stay at home mom! It really is amazing to be able to bee with my kids everyday and know that I am the one that gets to teach and influence them.
I want to thank you Colin for accepting the role of money maker, soldier, husband, father, and student! You are an inspiration for me and I know that you work hard and I truly am grateful! I love you for this!
